About Omar Taylor

My name is Omar Taylor.

I grew up in Brentwood NY. My family abandoned me

at a young age , and I was forced to live on the streets.

I knew there was a God, but I never actually felt like I

was with God. He was there, but where? I had no

relationship with Him, just a belief that He existed. But

I couldn’t understand why He would allow me to be an

outcast.

I had a hard life growing up but I always seemed to

walk out of the fire unscaved and I couldn’t under

stand how until I had an encounter with my LORD and

savior Jesus Christ many years later. I was attending a

wake as an adult and a woman who I did not know

yells across the room “go to church!”. At first I didn’t

bother to look up and kept my head down but then

again I heard a woman’s loud voice saying “go to

church!” at this point I’m thinking to my self that this

lady is being real disrespectful . But still I kept my head

down . Then again I hear the same voice “go to church!”

so now I look up and I see the lady looking at me along

with everyone else .Now in shock I stand up and ask

the woman if she is talking to me ?and she said yes.

She told me to go to church, God has been with me

and watching me from the beginning and now it is

time. God is going to use you mightily. Then she said if

i knew who She was you would understand. She said

she was a Pastor from North Carolina and the Holy

Spirit told her to tell me to go to church now.

The next day I was saved in my bedroom when I had a

supernatural experience and my entire life changed

from there. I learned that God is my father and He

loves me unconditionally. How unlike my earthly

parents He will never leave me or forsake me. I was

able to forgive my parents when I learned how we are

all born into sin and the penalty of sin is death but

because of our ignorance to this fact God gave His only

begotten son to die for me in my place so I can live. I

learned that my old life up to the point of my

encounter with the living God needed to be left behind

in order to walk in the newness of life . So I got

baptized . And when I went into the water I identified

with Jesus death and burial but when I came out of the

water I then identified with Jesus resurrection. And

from that point I accepted the gift of the Holy Spirit . So

now the same spirit that raised Christ from the grave is

now living in me.

This changed everything. I knew that from now on the

most important relationship in my life was with God.

He was the one who would be there for me. This

changed me, I developed a real relationship with Jesus

Christ. Things that were acceptable to me before, were

no longer acceptable to me because they did not

please God. I wanted God to be proud of me. I

wanted to make Him happy. So I continued to read the

Bible to commune with God and lean on His

understanding and not my own.

That was 13 years ago. Since then I am now an

Ordained Minister and a NYS Chaplain. the Holy Spirit

has been leading me in every aspect of my life day

after day. Giving me direction and shaping me into a

mature child of the King.
